Peter Ridehalgh

Secretary

As a committed Rovers fan I am very proud to be the secretary of 'We are The Rovers', having been appointed at the AGM of 2022. I had previously been a co-opted board member.

As a Community Benefit Society, The Trust is obliged by law to have a secretary who is responsible for ensuring that all Trust activities are carried out in accordance with legislation, following good practice and in an open and transparent manner. All Trust financial matters must be in accordance with FCA ( Financial Conduct Authority) rules and this also falls under my remit. It is my responsibility to ensure that the board acts honestly, effectively and, most importantly, in the best interests of the members. As the Trust is an FSA affiliated society, I also need to ensure that The Trust is represented at FSA regional meetings and AGMs.

So, not the most exciting role within the Trust, but Blackburn Rovers have played a big part in my life and I'd like to think I am contributing something towards ensuring a positive future for our football club.
