Fan Takeover

Tickets reduced for festive Fan Takeover!
December 4, 2023

Rovers’ festive fixture at home to Watford has been designated as ‘Fan Takeover Day’, with significantly reduced prices available to supporters.

Following a successful pilot partnership at the pre-season friendly against Girona, the club is once again teaming up with supporters groups in a bid to enhance the matchday experience, atmosphere and attendance for the game, which takes place at Ewood Park on Saturday December 23rd.

As a gesture of goodwill, tickets in all areas of the stadium have been priced as follows:

  • £11 Adults (with £1 per ticket being donated to Blackburn Rovers Community Trust for local charitable purposes)
  • £5 Concessions (seniors and young adults)
  • £2 Under-18s

With supporters returning to the area in time for Christmas, combined with the ticket offer, the club hopes to attract a bumper crowd to the fan-led fixture, which will also see a number of family-friendly activities, as well as festive food and drinks stalls, in and around the stadium.

Supporters are also encouraged to wear Christmas Jumpers and bring banners, scarfs and flags to the fixture, to create a blue-and-white wall when the Hornets come to town.

Mike Graham, Chair of the Supporters Trust ‘We Are The Rovers’, said: “We approached Steve Waggott about the fans takeover, following a similar event at the Girona friendly, and he was keen to have us involved and readily agreed to the ticketing proposals.

“The ticket offer will hopefully make this affordable to families, especially those returning to the area for the Christmas holidays.
“We call on all fans and their families to get down to Ewood on December 23rd. Bring your flags and banners and let’s make this a loud and proud blue-and-white Christmas and a fantastic start to the festive season.”

Rovers CEO Steve Waggott added: “The first fan takeover for our pre-season friendly game against Girona was a real success, so to do another one for the start of our festive fixtures against Watford made perfect sense.

“We have reduced the ticket prices as we know it is a financially challenging time of the year for families and fans, so with lots of festive fun being lined up for December 23rd it should make for an extra special day out for all attending Ewood Park.”

In addition to the £1 charity donation on all adult tickets, BRFCS are also launching a Christmas Funding Appeal for fans who want to make a difference to young supporters who otherwise wouldn’t be able to attend the fixture.

All funds raised will be handed over to Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, who will distribute the tickets to local families, with any surplus funds being put towards the Community Trust’s Holiday Hunger programme, which provides support to children in receipt of free school meals over the holiday periods.

A donation point in the Roverstore will also be set up to encourage supporters to buy gifts from the club shop and donate them back to the club, so that underprivileged children can receive a Rovers present this Christmas. Tickets for the Watford game will go on sale at 9am tomorrow morning from our ticketing website, from the Roverstore at Ewood Park and via the Ticket Office on 01254 372000.
