Rovers Trust Secretary Vacancy

Rovers Trust is the official supporters trust for Blackburn Rovers.
January 23, 2015

The Trust has been successfully campaigning on behalf of all Rovers supporters since 2012 and undertakes a wide range of club and football related initiatives on behalf of its members and the wider sports community in and around Blackburn.

The principal aim of Rovers Trust is to obtain full or part ownership of the club and its assets on behalf of fellow supporters in order to represent supporters’ views whilst protecting the club’s short and long term future. Our philosophy is to be open to all; democratic and inclusive, independent in thinking and decision-making, and to have our membership be as affordable and accessible to as many supporters as possible.

The Rovers Trust is currently looking for a secretary. It is a hugely rewarding position that will require commitment and dedication, up to date IT skills and, as the position is unpaid and voluntary, a passion for Blackburn Rovers would obviously be considered hugely relevant!

Description Of Role

Rovers Trust is administered by an elected board, whose volunteer members undertake specific roles from chairing the trust, IT and social media, finance, marketing, to media and PR.

The secretary’s role is to take the lead in guiding the steering group in its pursuit of the growth and development of Rovers Trust and managing specific roles and initiatives.

The right candidate will be expected to be proactive, possess good communication skills, integrity and a professional approach at all times. They will need to become familiar with the Trust’s business and applicable Supporters Trust regulations.

The secretary will be responsible for ensuring that Rovers Trust procedures are followed and that applicable rules and regulations are complied with.

Candidates need to be sure they can devote the appropriate amount of time to the role.

If you would like to be considered for the role of Rovers Trust Secretary please email our co-chair Wayne Wild at wayne.wild@roverstrust.co.uk

In your application, please include your CV and a covering note explaining why you feel you are right for the position. Please be prepared to provide two professional references upon request.
