STATEMENT - Steve Waggott

WATR Supporters Trust note that Blackburn Rovers CEO Steve Waggott has left the Club
May 22, 2025

WATR - Supporters Trust note that Blackburn Rovers CEO Steve Waggott has left the Club. While many have felt this could happen, we did not receive any indications from the Club ahead of time. We wish Steve and his family all the best moving forward.

WATR would like to express their concern about the recent goings on at the Club. With First Team players futures in doubt, the dismantling of the Women’s Team and now our CEO leaving it is vitality important that we get communication from the Club as soon as possible.

We encourage the Owners and their Representative appoint a CEO from outside of the Club who has a deep knowledge of football and football finances, has experience, gravitas and is willing to ensure supporter engagement is back on the agenda.

Next season marks the 150th anniversary of Blackburn Rovers and at present many Supporters are feeling further and further disconnected from our Club that means so much to us all.

We again urge those at the Club to understand the current feelings around our Fanbase and engage with us on steps forward.
