The AGM of We Are The Rovers, the Blackburn Rovers Supporters Trust will take place as follows:
7pm for 7.30pm startTuesday 16th June 2026At Blackburn Library (upstairs), entrance via Northgate, Blackburn.
Non-members are welcome to attend. However you must be a paying member to be nominated for our Board and to vote on any issues (Join via www.roverstrust.com)We will be holding a free raffle for all attendees on the night. The prize is a Rovers Full Members Cup Final flag donated by Ellen Hancock. This year's AGM will not be streamed live as we hope to encourage more members to attend in person. It has been a difficult year for WATR as there has been no direct engagement with the club. We are confident that the situation will be resolved soon with the help of the Football Supporters Association with whom WATR are affiliated. We will have a speaker from FSA at the AGM.
CALL FOR BOARD MEMBER NOMINATIONS: We are allowed a maximum Board membership of 10 plus an Honorary Secretary. The Chair, Vice Chair and Treasurer are elected by the Board at their first meeting after the AGM; at this meeting Board responsibilities are also agreed. Please note that our current Joint Chairs, Glen Mullan and Duncan Miller, have advised the Board that they will be standing down. We thank them for their hard work during the past 12 months. Duncan will be standing for re-election as a board member.
There are 5 Board positions up for election at our AGM. 2 of these are casual vacancies and 3 are Board members who are up for re-election (this happens every 2 years). The Board members up for re-election are: Duncan Miller, Roger Langford and Adam Deshmukh. Please note those up for re-election are also contested seats. If there are more valid nominations than Board positions a membership ballot will be arranged. We are particularly interested in hearing from members who have legal experience and those with social media skills.
The position of secretary will also be available. This position can be taken by a board member or as an honorary position. Any members with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
Meetings are often Zoom and occasionally hybrid Zoom and in person. The Board is unpaid and is voluntary. We are looking to extend and diversify our board and encourage nominations from fans of all ages and backgrounds.
Please advise if you wish to be nominated by emailing peterridehalgh@talktalk.net with the email subject ‘WATR Board Nomination’ before 9th June 2026. You must be a paid-up member* to stand for election; you must also provide the names and email addresses of both a nominator and seconder for your application, both again must be members*. In your email to Peter Ridehalgh, our Secretary, please confirm you are prepared to accept the Board Members Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct is available on request from Peter Ridehalgh as per the above email address. WATR is a Community Benefit Society registered with the FCA. In order to remain compliant, some new society rules are to be adopted after the AGM. The new rules are available to read via the WATR website referenced above.
Thank you
